The employee must have the knowledge and skills to provide specialized neonatal equipment cleaning functions. Must also provide linen, dietary, and supply services, as well as other duties, as assigned by the charge nurse or ANM, which assures customer satisfaction while supporting the overall mission of the NICU. He or she should be capable of performing light receptionist duties on NICU.
Required: High school education or its equivalent in education achievement.
Required: Strong communication skills, ability to multi task, understanding of infection control standards.
Preferred: Prior environmental services experience, ordering and maintaining inventory of medical supplies, clerical experience and/or hospital experience.

Department Position Summary:
Constant mobility with adaptation to the constantly changing workload related to increased volume and acuity of high stress Neonatal ICU environment is necessary.
Must be able to communicate effectively, follow directions well and function without strict supervision.
Distributes materials and supplies throughout the 58 bed Neonatal ICU, which maintains 2 double main bay pyxis and 10 additional single bay pyxis machines. (The NICU is the single largest unit in the entire hospital and maintains multiple supplies (which are not processed by Materials) but that are stocked/inventoried by the NICU techs.)
Maintain accurate inventory levels including stock rotation, cycle counts & monitor dated items for all of the supplies in the above mentioned pyxis, in addition to the two infant formula rooms and the supplies in the storage room across the hallway from the NICU.
Monitor preventative maintenance (PM) of all specialized equipment (including 50+ warmers/isolettes/omnibeds, 10 electronic scales, etc)) in the NICU and coordinate with the nursing and biomedical staff to have PM completed with minimum interruption of patient care.
Responsible for inventory discrepancies and adjustments
Assists in patient transports when the infants are discharged from the NICU.
Assists with visitor traffic control during times of acute crisis management within the NICU.
Assist with the inventory of respiratory therapy supplies in the NICU.
Assists with the set-up of admission supplies/equipment for the NICU patients
Maintains NICU laundry
Efficiently cleans equipment for expeditious return to service and assists with preparation of admission bed set up supplies and equipment
