Serco Inc is a leading provider of professional technology and management services focused on the federal government We advise design integrate and deliver solutions that transform how clients achieve their missions Our customerfirst approach robust portfolio of services and global experience enable us to respond with solutions that achieve outcomes with value Headquartered in Reston VA Serco Inc has approximately 9000 employees with an annual revenue of 15 billion and is part of a 66 billion global business that helps transform government and public services around the world Serco recognizes that our employees are our most valuable asset Our successes directly relate to our employees At Serco we listen respect and support our employees and through continuous training development and informationsharing we advance talent internally enhancing career growth and progression which enables not only our employees to excel but enables our customers to excel as well Our employees personally can make a difference It is not just a job at Serco at Serco we offer career opportunities We invite you to become part of our dynamic team Serco is an equal opportunityaffirmative action employer committed to diversifying its workforce (MFDV)Our business unit provides support in three major areas business process services where we perform the actual function that the process is relate to business process related software that helps us manage the various components the systems associated with the software in the process and then there is a business process management which is used to help design and track the performance of the specific business process The business units work supports primarily the Department of Homeland Security the Department of State and the US Patent and Trademark Office We support our clients with a work force of over 2600 Serco and Serco subcontractor employees and provide mission critical support services that primarily support Immigration Visa Processing and CommerceSerco is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to support one of our Government contracts at Fair OaksVa This position is responsible for providing planning design implementation and support for Governmental agency’s logical and physical network infrastructure including all sites components routers switches firewalls and network management and monitoring tools The successful candidate will be responsible for introducing changes andor new architecture to the operational environment both managed and unmanaged networks Provide daytoday support to the environment as a member of the Network Team Tasking includes preparation installation and configuration of network equipment (such as routers and switches) and related software Analysis and troubleshooting to resolve network issues is also a core element of this position Essential Functions Under general supervision the sr network engineer must be able to perform the following functions independently bullInstall configure analyze and upgrade network equipment including routers switches hubs and firewalls primarily in a Ciscobased environment bullPerform preventative maintenance for network equipment test and make required adjustments to meet appropriate standards bullrovide troubleshooting expertise for network problems including software protocol issues and equipment malfunctions bullUtilize network monitoring tools to diagnose network faults and to analyze network performance bullWork with other teams such as System Engineering and the OperationsMaintenance Team in performance of these services CCNA (minimum) CCNP (preferred) Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline Minimum of 7 years of related experience Knowledge of IP routing protocols including BGP and MPLS routing Working knowledge of network router hardware and IOS software (Cisco) Working knowledge of networking equipment including hubs and switches Working knowledge of network cabling including twisted pair and fiber Working knowledge of Cisco VRF Network Topology Working knowledge of Cisco Anyconnect VPN Working knowledge of configuring VLANS ports and protocols Working knowledge of Cisco Works Working knowledge of Cisco ASA appliances Working knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony (VOIP) Multitask oriented team player Ability to work overtime as required Candidates must have Green Card or US Citizen work statusl Candidates must be able to pass a background check Network/IP Administrator
