Our client, a leader in design, development and manufacture of innovative aerospace systems, located in Lafayette, Colorado, has a requirement for a Network Engineer. The anticipated duration of this contract engagement is 6 months.
What You'll Do:
We are seeking a skilled NetworkEngineer I with expertise in the areas of operational support for the LAN, WAN, and Wireless areas to be part of our support model within the IT Service Delivery Operations organization. In this role, he/she will be part of a team focused on strengthening the stability posture of infrastructure operations within their focused area of expertise and will help IT Service Delivery Operations as a whole achieve Operational Excellence.
While this role is an individual contributor role, collaboration and leadership attributes will be considered critical success factors in addition to strong technical knowledge and skills.
Uti Utilize thorough knowledge of the following platforms to ensure stable operations throughout the enterprise:
LAN, WAN, MAN solutions
Load balancing and WAN acceleration solutions
Network monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting
Wireless, video conferencing and IP-based voice solutions
Assist in establishing and adhering to standard processes and documentation.
Provide strong technical guidance and specific activities to ensure stable system configuration and maintenance support.
Execute advanced troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively.
What You'll Need:
BS in Information Technology or a related technical field, plus2 or more years experience as a network administrator.
Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification required; CCNP preferred.
Experience should include advanced knowledge of configuring, maintaining, patching, and monitoring a stable network environment along with associated and related applications and utilities/tools.
Must be well versed in Cisco switches, routers, and wireless device configuration best practices and the implementation of such practices.
Must have strong documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally.
Must have strong experience working in an enterprise organization understanding application interdependencies.
Must possess strong technical knowledge and experience in configuring all components associated with an LAN, WAN, and wireless
Must be knowledgeable of network and telecommunications cabling (Cat 5, 5E, 6, Fiber Optics, etc.) specifications and troubleshooting
Must have demonstrable sound judgment and superior problem solving skills
Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels of the organization.
In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher level degree, i.e. Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience.
Related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nice To Have Skills: Familiarity with Silver Peak WAN accelerators preferred; Experience with Cisco VoIP, (CCX, Call Manager, CUCM, Unity, Express); Security Clearance preferred
