This is a full time, non-benefited, temporary position that can be renewed through June 30, 2013.
The purpose of this position is to manage local and wide area networks and communications systems and associated applications, analyze and resolve matters and serve as the network resource for the City through a centralized IT Department. This is accomplished by configuring and monitoring systems, deploying software and upgrades, installing and configuring hardware, monitoring backup systems, and providing technical support. Other duties include creating template forms, providing technical expertise and maintaining infrastructure information and diagrams.
Normal Work Schedule is: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Exerting over 100 lbs. occasionally; 50-100 lbs. frequently; or up to 20-50 lbs. constantly. # Code Essential Functions 1 M Plans, installs and maintains enterprise network systems systems by planning installs and upgrades, configuring and installing hardware and software, completing customer requests, and collaborating with departments and vendors. 2 S Provides technical support by attending project meetings, recommending upgrades and/or equipment purchases, providing level 2 technical support, and generating reports. 3 S Creates and maintains templates and forms for configuration, change control and other requests by reviewing processes, analyzing needs, determining objectives, and updating as required. 4 S Researches new technologies by reviewing documentation, testing updates and patches, documenting changes, reviewing authorizations, and implementing all changes. 5 M Installs hardware and network software, configuring systems, developing requirements, troubleshooting server, san and backup system issues, completing or arranging for system upgrades and maintenance, and documenting configurations. 6 M Provides backup support by working with technicians on issues, troubleshooting problems, and changing configurations.
