Specifically, the candidate will be experienced with networking topologies, configuration, security, troubleshooting, and traffic management and enhancing existing networks and designing, deploying and supporting new networks.
The position falls within the PAC-12 Engineering and Technology Group, which is responsible for the enterprise systems and networks as well as the media/content production, distribution and archiving systems and networks for one of Television’s most advanced companies.
Actively participate in the configuration and management of a high density network.
Support network issues at all levels from access to core, including reactive troubleshooting and proactive fault mitigation and network triage for overall network infrastructure.
Participate in the monitoring and planning of traffic within datacenters as well as ingress/egress traffic.
Management of IP addressing and load-balancing devices.
Support/lead implementation of networks’ expansion and enhancements.
Contribute to development and improvement of operational procedures and documentation.
Install, configure and maintain network and host based intrusion prevention systems, firewalls, and other security devices and manage and maintain network monitoring systems.
Respond to and analyze security system alerts and incident reports.
Operational experience with enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches, specifically Cisco and Juniper.
Previous start-up experience
BS/MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering or CompScience or equivalent related experience.
Extensive knowledge of network security including IDS, DDoS, Firewalls, and other distributed attack schemes.
Network routing protocol configuration and troubleshooting, specifically BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS.
Experience with VPN technologies, IPSec and SSL and with the design and implementation of access and distribution layer technologies, including HSRP, VRRP, and VLAN implementations
Expertise of common network protocols (DNS, DHCP, NAT) and best practices for network security, redundancy and disaster recovery.
Understanding of transit/peering and CDN implementations.
Knowledge of high connection rate load balancing.
Appropriate certifications, CCNP or higher with equivalent hardware certifications.
Experience within an autonomous, self-directed work environment with an ability to work within a group to plan and set priorities.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
