Job Title : Network Engineer /Administrator
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 12+ Months
The network engineer will provide technical, procedural and operational support to all areas of IT staff to ensure proper operation of the network. The network engineer monitors the network, coordinates with ISP and WAN vendors to facilitate network uptime, design, enhancements, new implementations and problem resolution.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities : ∙ Participates in high-level project discussions ∙ Function as a Tier-2 escalation point for complex networking issues. ∙ Assist in the design of infrastructure and network security systems in new and existing networks. ∙ Documents both new and existing network environments. ∙ Assist with designs, implementations and maintains best practices for network devices and process/procedures associated with their operation. ∙ Makes changes to various network systems - switches, routers, firewalls, VPN Gateways, etc. ∙ May be called upon to train coworkers on technology environments and tools. ∙ Must also be able to work occasional weekends and on after-hours projects.
Work Environment: The Network Engineer will work within a strong team in supporting a global state-of-the-art network. This role is fast-paced and extremely demanding. The Network Engineer will provide technical support to level I operations and assist with network design.
