Our stable, long standing client in the North West Phoenix area is looking for an IT Network Engineer to join their team! This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to work with a solid team and for a great company!
The Sr. IT Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise in the design, deployment, and management of the company's global network infrastructure, including all infrastructure components.
This Engineer will:
Design, deploy and maintain secure networking technologies throughout the enterprise in order to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
Work closely with peers and technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
Develop design and deployment standards, policies, and procedures in order to effectively support the enterprise networking environment.
Participate in the analysis and selection of networking technologies and products for implementation through the enterprise.
Participate in outage resolution and on-call rotation in support of the network infrastructure and overall business systems.
Develop and maintain processes, documentation and metrics for the management, monitoring of resource utilization, and capacity planning of enterprise network environments.
Assist in the administration and establishment of governance best practices for secure networking environments.
Provide technical support and training to staff on all related networking technologies as necessary.
Continually update understanding of business and technology status and objectives and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves.
Other duties as assigned.
This candidate should have:
A minimum of 5 years working with design, implementation and administration of enterprise data networks.
Strong background with TCP/IP, strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing
Strong understanding of an OSI model
Cisco routers/switches/firewalls and Juniper firewalls
Cisco to Juniper ratio is 50/50
Juniper is a plus
F5 will be a big plus
Background with IOS, JUNOS, and F5 network operating systems and associated hardware.
Strong technical capability in VPN, WAN and WLAN technologies.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related filed or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work with monitoring and packet analysis tools such as Nimsoft, NetScout and WireShark.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation schedule.
Proven self-discipline, self-direction and motivation.
ITIL certification preferred.
