We are looking for a Communications Infrastructure (Network) Engineer to provide project and operational support of the network infrastructure for the businesses and employees located at Franklin’s Corporate Headquarters location as well as other locations throughout Franklin’s global enterprise.

Responsibilities include providing oversight to the implementation and ongoing administration of Franklin’s Data Network related technologies and services. In this role, the individual is responsible for planning and managing the implementation of technology solutions that have been released by the Engineering team for deployment. This individual will then be responsible for overseeing the management and administration of the technology after it has been deployed to ensure security practices and system configurations remain in compliance with documented standards.

To be successful in this role, the Engineer will be expected to work in partnership with others in the Communications Infrastructure, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development organizations to effectively support the operational processes and procedures associated with the ongoing management and administration of the Franklin’s Communications Systems. This position requires experience working with International Support Teams and Vendors. The Engineer must be flexible and will be required on occasion to perform work outside of normal business hours.

Responsibilities include:
Assist in the development and deployment of communication (voice/data/video) solutions; including operational testing, support process development, general release planning & deployment and planning & conducting end user training & acceptance.

Manage the infrastructure in accordance with established operational practices.

Follow standard configuration guidelines when performing system moves, additions, and changes.

Update documentation and monitor system performance.

Manage small to medium scale projects in accordance with established processes.

Lead or participate in management of Tier 2/3 problem resolution and escalation activities.

Perform root cause analysis.

Participate in vendor management activities associated with the ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancement of the company’s infrastructure and related services.


Ideal candidates will have:
Five years of practical work experience in the design, deployment and support of network solutions for medium- to large-sized, distributed enterprises utilizing the following technologies and standards:

Switching Architectures – Cisco Nexus OS and Catalyst IOS

Cisco ASA


Routing Protocols: BGP, EIGRP & RIP

Cisco Wireless

Cisco Load Balancers

Highly Desirable:
Technology-related Bachelor’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree


Experience with Riverbed Steelhead Wan Optimization appliances.

Experience with Cisco Voice Gateways & VOIP

Experience with OpenNMS Monitoring Tool

Experience with Infoblox
