Provides strategic insight, implementation management, support and maintenance related to global technical infrastructure (network and servers) for Premier Research Group plc. These activities are performed in compliance to all Premier Research Group policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Participates in strategic design, development/implementation of global technical network infrastructure according to standard good practice and Premier Research Group policies and procedures.
Monitors, manages, and supports technical network infrastructure
Suggests potential improvements to technical network infrastructure relative to connectivity, security, business continuity, service delivery, etc.
Participates in asset requisition, acquisition, receipt, and management
Actively participates in and/or manages additional projects as related to network infrastructure input and involvement.
Troubleshoots network infrastructure issues effectively and efficiently in accordance with standard practice
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a LAN/MAN/WAN environment (Cisco) supporting network infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience in defining and implementing strategically optimized and scalable global network infrastructures.
At least one of the following certifications required: CCNP, CCNP Security (preferred), CCDE, CCIE, Any Cisco Security Specialist Certifications (combination preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of the following is required: Cisco ASAs, Cisco Routers, Dell or Cisco Switches, Firewalls, S2S VPN, IPS/IDS, BGP and other active failover methods, Identifying Network Requirements, Network Design and Implementation, Strategic Planning, Monitoring Network Performance and Security Threats, TCP/IP v4, TCP/IP v4 migration to v6, Implementing, Troubleshooting, Accelerating, and Optimizing Global WANS, Virtual Environments, Cloud Architecture, packet sniffing & analysis, and Third-party data center support and operation
Experience in the following areas is required: CIDR, EIGRP, OSPF, MUX EQ, VOFR/VOIP, GRE, PPTP, IKE troubleshooting, SNMP/RMON, Internet-based applications, Multicast, Network Management Systems, Visual Networks, Circuit Provisioning, and network support/troubleshooting of the following products: ISA, Sharepoint, Citrix, VMWare, Antivirus including Malware, Scripting
Experience in these areas preferred: Working in an ITIL based framework, MS Windows 2000/2003/2008, Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange, SQL Server, Active Sync, Backup Exec and MS DPM, Dell and HP HW, Linux/Unix, NetApp including storage replication, IIS and other Web servers, MS Terminal Services, MS TMG, VDI, and Windows Clustering
Experience working in a clinical drug development or other highly regulated industry background preferred
Ability to perform out of normal business hours work and may be swing shift or similar
Ability to work as part of a team, coordinating, multi-tasking, and focusing on quality
Experience providing positive and efficient customer service to internal customers.
