The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator is a certified EEG Technologist responsible for the day to day operations of the Neurodiagnostics Lab. The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator is responsible for providing and administering neurodiagnostic procedures per physician orders. This position has the additional responsibility of the departmental Systems Administrator.
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
Completed two years of college or Associate's Degree in health care
Minimum of 3 years experience in the field of Neurodiagnostics
Three years hospital experience
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
BLS required within 30 days of hire.
One year of training from an EEG accredited program
ABRET Certified EEG Tech (R.EEGT.)
Certification in Evoked Potential Technology
Department Position Summary:
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator is a certified EEG Technologist responsible for performing Neurodiagnostic procedures as per physicians' orders with availability for on-call coverage.
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the department including staff, on-call and patient scheduling; maintaining patient and departmental documentation; developing and maintaining a Policy and Procedure Manual; entering charges and completing monthly reports.
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator serves as the departmental Systems Administrator with the ability to troubleshoot equipment as needed and communicate effectively with the manufacturer to maintain equipment integrity.
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator will assist the Neuroscience Administrator in the development and implementation of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit ; daily operations of the EMU including staff and patient scheduling; maintaining the appropriate patient and departmental documentation; entering charges and completing monthly reports
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other departmental and hospital-wide staff members. He/she must be able to work independently and interdependently as necessary.
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator is responsible for providing quality patient care in a safe environment for all patients presenting to the Neurodiagnostics Lab.
The Neurodiagnostics Lab Coordinator will serve as a member of the Neuroscience Service Line Committee.
