New Business Development - Development Engineer
This position will be located at the Plymouth location initially, then transitioning to the Hutchinson site in approximately 1 year.
•Work closely with the Toolroom, Scheduling, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing to en-sure prototype and low volume goals are met. This includes development of tooling and proc-esses necessary to build products from concept through transfer to high volume.
•Lead projects to ensure tooling and equipment are in place to meet product ramps
•Assess product designs for manufacturability and supply estimates for cost and lead times for build of product from prototype stage through product ramp.
•Provide production support (troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem resolution).
•Maintain close working relationships with other sites or the direct customer to resolve issues believed to be stamping related.
•Work with Supplier Engineering to identify and optimize raw materials used in the fabrication of products.
•Design and optimize tooling and processes to improve lead times, yield, setup rate, and cost.
•Develop process documentation
•Interface with customers to ensure all project specifications are clear and manufacturable and that all deliverables are met on time
•Ability to apply theoretical engineering concepts
•Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and solve problems using systematic problem solving tools
•Ability to apply experimental and statistical techniques
•Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
•Ability to work in a diverse team to ensure goals are achieved
•Demonstrate good organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
•Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers and suppliers
BSME or MSME with 3 years minimum related experience
