The primary responsibility of the Nextgen Application Specialist is to asure the smooth operation of assigned applications by the use of knowledge of general computer concepts, gained knowledge of assigned Nextgen applications, application resources and tools though all aspects of sued of the computer system. These activities may include but are not limited to testing, training, problem solving, and preparing documentation. The Nextgen Application Specialist is expected to act as the liason between Regional West Physician Clinical Staff. Part of this role is to also assure smooth integration of new applications with current software applications, minimizing application unavailability from downtimes and meeting the user's education needs.

Job Function

Contributes to an effective team environment by working with clinical and nonclinical users in ways that encourage each person's contributions Maintains confidentiality of all patient information per HIPAA and Regional West Physician Clinical Policies Develops/builds customer specific files, screens, reports, and system security . Enters gathered information into the system and modified system design as needed Provides support to resolve problems and software Prioritizes support to resolve problems with software Prioritizes problem requests Provides ongoing application support as needed Provides ongoing application support as needed Provides go-live support for applications Prepares and delivers end-user training for Nextgen clinic software applications Maintains application integrity through written regular maintenance procedures Provides support to the Nextgen Application Analyst


One to three years of software application analysis and use, or other directly related business experience in a very active work environment preferred Previous experience in clinic setting required
