Provides direction during the early morning hours of the transportation department indirectly supervises drivers. Must maintain compliant with DOT regulations, promote safety initiatives. Provide support, advice, and guidance to drivers in solving issues that occur prior to and during departure. Assist in monitoring drivers performance in the areas of attendance, conduct, and other related performance issues. Make driver schedule changes as needed for delivery routes. Position is trained in Roadnet systems and Summary Systems for cross training. This position may also be called upon to substitute for a delivery driver, therefore must have valid CDL A with current medical cert.
Understanding of daily functions within the transportation/distribution areas.
CDL A with minimum 3 yrs delivery experience
Solid background in DOT regulations
Understanding of tractor/trailer equipment and repairs
Proficient computer skills Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Understand and ability to operate handheld units
Work independently and make necessary decisions involving route assignments
Excellent and detailed communication to the Transportation team
Open and willing to embrace change
Desire to have the opportunity to coach/train staff
Positive, progressive attitude
Physical abilities, to perform delivery driver position, if needed
