We are currently recruiting a Regional Sales Director to promote OptumHealth Financial and sell its 'account based' services (FSA, HRA, HSA, COBRA/state continuation, Retiree Billing, CERA/Transit, Consolidated Billing, and VEBA administration) with primary emphasis on sales through prominent and influential Health & Welfare insurance brokers and consultants.

Primary Responsibilities:

-In conjunction with management, develop and maintain a sales plan to accomplish position objective

-Identify, contact, and meet with Health & Welfare brokers and consultants who are in a position to refer business to OptumHealth Financial

-With respect to Health & Welfare brokers and consultants identified in the bullet above, maintain an ongoing relationship to encourage continuing new business referrals and to support brokers and consultants with technical assistance from OptumHealth Financial Product Managers and Subject Matter Experts staff

-Prepare and send marketing/sales materials to brokers, consultants, and/or prospective clients

-Participate in tradeshow opportunities as directed by supervisor to promote OptumHealth Financial services to brokers, consultants, and employers

-Request proposals from OptumHealth Financial support staff using established OptumHealth Financial procedures

-Meet with prospective clients as directed by brokers or consultants to present OptumHealth Financial and our services and fees

-Meet with prospective clients who are not referred by brokers or consultants but who request information/proposals directly

-Complete forms and follow procedures to inform OptumHealth Financial installation staff of new sales in order to facilitate a smooth transition of new business

-Assist OptumHealth Financial installation and administration staff, as requested by management, with the delivery of materials, set-up of administration services, employee communications, and ongoing administration issues

-Provide input to management regarding OptumHealth Financial's sales and marketing materials, administration and training services, including OptumHealth Financial's websites, and fees based upon customer feedback and competitor materials, services, and fees

-Complete periodic marketing activity, sales, and commission reports for management

-Meet with supervisor periodically to discuss/analyze initiatives and modify approaches, as appropriate

-Manage sales and marketing expenses in a manner consistent with company policies

-Territory includes: NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, DC, MA, CT, VT, NH, ME

-Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical.

-Ability to deliver strong presentations.

-Strong ability to develop and strengthen and both internal and external relationships.
-A background or understanding of HSA, HRA, FSA, Cobra and Wellness products.

-A strong understanding of the local markets and brokers within the market will be extremely important.

-B.A. degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

- Minimum of 5 years sales experience in group medical insurance and/or consumer directed health products

-Knowledge of the key Health and Welfare Brokers in the assigned market space

-Successful results and experience marketing/selling HSA/Benefits administration products through the Broker and Consultant market networks

-Technical knowledge of all Federal Rules and Regs. Regarding Code Sections 79, 104, 105, 106, 115, 125, 129, 132(f), 152, 501(c)(9), 4980B (COBRA) and HRA, HSA and GASB rules both public and private

-Technical knowledge of applicable state laws that affect the above Federal sections in the designated sales area

-Experience telemarketing to and establishing appointments with the Health and Welfare Brokers in the assigned market space

-Technically competent in the use of lap top, projector and wireless technology

-Excellent communications skills; friendly, cooperative and results oriented personality

-Experience in marketing without using a significant expense account

-Other: Frequent travel required (70%)

-5 years experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite to include word, excel, PowerPoint.
