The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner possesses a body of knowledge that surrounds the full spectrum of high-acuity patient care needs. With this in mind, the focus of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is the provision of restorative, curative, rehabilitative, palliative, and maintenance care. Intrinsic to this focus are the following components of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner role: application of diagnostic reasoning; specialized psychomotor skills in the performance of procedures; evaluation; consultation; referral to nurses, physicians, and other providers; family assessment; education; and provision for discharge planning or disposition.
-Current Indiana Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration
-Expertise in the practice of nursing validated by a minimum of five years of current clinical practice including at least two years in the area of specialty practice
-Collaborative agreement with affiliated physician group
