Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center:
Medically fragile and terminally ill children who require 24-hour-a-day skilled nursing care.
Those who require emergency care due to
abuse, abandonment, neglect or are homeless; or
who need foster care.
To homeless, pregnant, or parenting teens, and their family members needing case
management, education, parenting, and independent living skills.
Children with autism & special needs.
Young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, are in crisis due to mental health or abuse, and to families who are struggling to maintain their children in their homes to provide stability and skills for self-sufficiency.
Open Arms Children’s Health:
A one-stop-shop for Pediatric services, offering compassionate, expert care for children who are medically fragile, children with Autism, children in foster care, and children with exceptional health needs. We are expanding our services to provide exceptional medical, dental, and behavioral health care for the whole child. Our approach is simple: respectful support for families, compassionate care for kids.
Dental: Services include routine check-ups, cleanings, school screenings and other dental work.
Medical: Pediatric Primary Care for children ages birth to 18, providing immunizations, annual well checks, sick visits, sports physicals, back to school physicals, and more. Lab services are also available for patients.
Radiology: Radiology services can be performed during the medical services. Films are reviewed and interpreted by Kosair Children’s Hospital Radiologist.
Audiology: Hearing testing and treatment services are performed by Heuser Hearing Institute.
Pharmacy: Convenient on-site location with same-day service.
Autism Intervention Services: Therapeutic support, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), designed to help families with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Aquatics therapy: Heated saltwater pool available for therapeutic use.
PRN position; Must be available to provide coverage for one Nurse Practitioner who works Noon - 8:00 pm every Tuesday and 8:00 am - Noon every Saturday; number of hours each week will vary.
Salary: $50 per hour
Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and licensed to work as an RN in the state of Kentucky. Must be graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and licensed to work as an ARNP in the state of Kentucky.
Two years Nurse Practitioner experience required, experience in Primary Care Physician office, pediatrics, and/or victims of abandonment/abuse/neglect preferred.
The general purpose of your job is to keep children who are clients of HOTI safe at all times and to be respectful of the children and their families as valued customers.
The specific purpose of your job is to manage health problems and coordinate the health care of children and adolescents seen in the Open Arms Childrens Health medical service. Assist with the coordination of day-to-day clinic operations and charting of medical or administrative information in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern medical records. Responsibility for but not limited to assisting in taking patient history, vital signs, lab testing, diagnosing medical conditions, prescribing medications according to license, and health education of child and families.
