Director Nursing – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Conroe Regional Medical Center is currently looking for a Director of Nursing – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients appropriate to ages of patients served.

Assumes responsibility for clinical and resource management of unit (24hrs/day).

Assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction for quality of care.

Promotes hospital customer service initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Director is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning the Nursing Units/Services which are under the direct supervision of Unit Supervisors. The Nurse Director: o

Is responsible for initiating, guiding, and directing the coordination of services provided by the designated Nursing/ Rehabilitation Unit. o

Functions as a resource person for the Clinical Rehabilitation Manager and staff members and assists in necessary education to promote effective management of the areas of responsibility. Demonstrates ability to select, train, motivate and develop subordinates. o

Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by specified Units. o

Makes decisions regarding activities in area of responsibility based on Hospital Administrative Policies and Procedures, Human Resource Policies and Procedures, Department of Nursing Standards, and Unit Standards with collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer in unusual situations. o

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through Staff o

Works in coordination with the Clinical Rehabilitation Manager. o

Reviews departmental proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project in order to fulfill the mission and functions of the department and Conroe Regional Medical Center. o

Establishes work plan and staffing, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of personnel to meet patient treatment needs. o

Confers with staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. o

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares reports for management, client, or others. Confer with personnel to resolve problems. o

Coordinates and integrates activities between department disciplines and other departments within Conroe Regional Medical Center. Develop and implement policies and procedures for direction and provision of services in accordance with Conroe Regional Medical Center

's primary functions. o Determines qualifications/competence of all department personnel. Participates in and coordinates department participation in the Performance Improvement Plan. Orients new staff or promoted staff and coordinates in-services and continuing education of all departmental personnel. Recommends expansion of physical plant or resources in response to patient programs and service needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

A. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. If hired from out of state, may work without Texas license for up to 90-days and must not do any direct patient care during that period.

B. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice with emphasis on leadership and management experience.

C. Current verification of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation through Life Support Training including, BLS (within 30-days) and ACLS (within 60-days)

D. Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Masters preferred.
