Director of Quality & Care Management needed for a large, acute care hospital in the Atlanta area of Georgia.
Reporting to Administrative Director of Operations, this position is responsible for all functions of Quality Management for the facility; oversee 13 FTEs.
Direct the management, planning, development, implementation, reporting and evaluation of performance management across the entire care continuum for the hospital and ensure that the facility activity is consistent with the system's overall Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan.
Identify and manage operational process improvement initiatives across the health system.
Interprets and implements site/entity quality assurance, improvement and safety standards to ensure quality care to patients; oversee the audit of work activities of system staff to verify conformance of activities to quality assurance standards; maintain ongoing tracking reports of findings; develop and lead in integrating quality and patient safety activities.
Leads and coordinates process and outcome measurement and evaluation activities across the health system to maximize quality and ensure patient safety and promote operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Combines advanced analytical and interpretive skills with information technology to enhance the quality, usability and availability of clinical, patient safety and financial outcomes information.
Actively implement, develop and coordinate site-wide data reporting from registry and regulatory bodies, audits, with analysis, redesign and construction and assure improvement activities remain on-going.
Ensures compliance with the Joint Commission and all legal, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements are met.
Develops and maintains proactive and effective collaborative relationships with staff, colleagues, physicians and hospital leaders.
Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:
RN with Bachelor's (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5 years experience in quality/performance improvement (CQI/TQM) and 3 years quality management and process improvement experience.
Board Certification in CPHQ, CHCQM or ASQ is required; Six Sigma and Rapid Cycle Performance Improvement certification preferred.
Knowledge of the most current performance improvement systems and a proven track record of leading Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) or similar improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
Membership in The American Health Quality Association (AHQA) and/or The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) strongly preferred.
Proven project management and team leadership skills.
