This position reports to the Director of Food & Nutrition Services. Develops and maintains a hospital-wide website, pertaining, but not limited to, clinical nutrition services, diets, menus, catering, patient information, and select healthcare provider information. Utilizes a variety of software applications and intranet links. Integrates website data collection with existing or new databases as necessary. Collaborates with department managers and information systems personnel to achieve optimal website functionality. Maintains effective working relationships with all major system users. Ensures customers’ expectations are met by monitoring website use and providing continuous quality improvement.
Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Technical training and relevant experience may be substituted for a college degree where mastery of required technical skills and knowledge can be demonstrated.
Cognizant of technical issues and the requirements of website operations including bandwidth, content driven pages, graphics, text and resolution.
Knowledge of browser compatibility issues.
Knowledge of newest versions of HTML authoring and demonstrated ability to use extensions including tables, server-based/client pull applications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Visio and Excel. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including DreamWeaver.
Knowledge of networking and general system applications.
Experience in managing installation of third party software from planning through implementation and maintenance of use after installation.
Preferred experience with database reporting using Excel Query and Crystal Reports.
One to three years’ experience in Information Technology, including website programming, design and management. Experience or interest in Food Services, Clinical Nutrition, or other Health Promotion Programs desirable .
