OPS Motor Vehicle Operator
Starting salary range is $10.00 – $13.00 per hour, commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience.

This person will provide pick-up and delivery service of the Department of Pathology, LABdoc and various departments as directed by the manager. Also maintains appropriate logs and records as required by the department.
Provides daily delivery of client supplies and pick-up of specimens and ensures all samples are handled, stored and transported at proper temperatures (ambient, refrigerated & frozen) following all department safety and OSHA guidelines.
Maintains assigned vehicle in proper working condition assuring all maintenance, safety and required equipment are compliant with department guidelines.
Provide and/or arranges for appropriate maintenance of department vehicle(s) and coordinates for coverage or back up vehicle.
Create and maintain routing program with up to date client, address and stop requirements as new clients use our services.
Create and maintain database (excel spreadsheet) of stops, mileage, start and end times.
Ensures all clients are receiving result reports, supplies and satisfaction of service with each and every stop.
Fills client supply orders on a daily basis and meets a 24 hours turn-around on consumables and 48 hours for printed material.
Troubleshoot (in the field) printer, computer, toner cartridge, phone line, etc as directed by the manager.
Serve as a backup for Client Services and the Laboratory assisting with answering incoming phone calls, access laboratory database and communicate with clients regarding case status, specimen handling requirements, fees, insurance and other information.
Ability to record and/or log specimen counts, tube or container type and operational status of equipment.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Ability to lift and manipulate supplies, equipment and material.
Minimum Requirements: Completion of the ninth grade and possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated.
Health Assessment Required
Minimum of 3 years timed route experience.
Special instructions to applicants:
This is a time-limited position.
Work involves moderate exposure to outside conditions as controlled by the weather.
Moderate physical activity requiring handling of average weight objects of 20-40 pounds, sitting, driving and walking daily.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards which require following basic safety precautions.
Proof of completion of Hepatitis-B series or willing to complete series upon employment.
