Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or his/her designee, performs receptionist duties, and serves as public relations representative to all of the department’s customers. Enhances the department’s efficiencies by coordinating transmittal of information. Supports the surgery Charge Nurse Board Runner by assisting with dissemination of information to physicians, surgery staff, and other departments, both clinical and nonclinical.
Experience: Experience as a receptionist or customer service representative preferred. Experience in a health care setting preferred. Knowledge in medical terminology preferred. Continuous attention to detail is critical in order to avoid delays and misinterpretations. Ability to manage phone or personal contact with customers who may become verbally hostile. Ability to exchange information in an objective and factual manner.
Equipment/Machine Skills: Basic Computer skills preferred
