Provide a wide variety of resource services for all members in NANA’s regional communities and act as liaison for such groups as various NANA units, Maniilaq Association, the Northwest Arctic Borough or other such groups.


Respond to inquiries regarding NANA, Northwest Arctic Borough and Maniilaq Association’s services and assist local individuals in gaining access to services.

Assist and serve as contact and resource person for NANA, Northwest Arctic Borough and Maniilaq Association in organizing and coordinating village activities and meetings.

Provide technical assistance as well as coordinating and facilitating services provided by other regional organizations and agencies to meet needs of local residents.

Provide staff support (as needed) for regional partnerships in village economic development and wellness efforts.

Work with Chukchi Campus in developing village-based student advising and support in the areas of registration, financial aide, study groups, proctoring exams and arrange for local courses as needed.

Coordinate and facilitate services provided by other regional organizations and agencies in addressing needs of local residents.

Post and make aware regional job announcements locally (unless provided by another local entity) and provide pre-employment drug screening as needed.

Assist in the promotion and preservation of Inupiaq Culture by giving support to local Elders as needed.

Staff a one-person resource office to assemble, maintain and provide a variety of resource materials needed to carry out duties of the job.

Submit narrative and statistical reports as required on a monthly basis.

Attend professional development training as required to fulfill the duties of job requirements.

Be able to balance multiple activities while still paying proper attention to details

Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Preference will be given to NANA Shareholders

Level I: Requires high school graduation (or equivalent) and at least six months experience or training related to this position. This level performs basic level duties within a defined area of responsibilities. Incumbents may be just beginning to work in this field and may not have a much experience or training. This level may be paid at a lower rate than level II.

Level II: Requires high school graduate or equivalent and at least two (2) years of directly related work experience that involved significant public contact. Individuals at this level can work independently and meet all standards required of this level. He/she will perform work under moderate supervision and may assist in the training of others. Assignment at this level requires a workload of position requirements necessary to be productive.

Language skills sufficient to: 1. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 2. Write routine reports and correspondence. 3. Speak effectively before groups of applicants, shareholder or employees. Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Reasoning ability sufficient to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. It also requires the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Incumbents are regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and to reach with arms and hands. They are occasionally required to stand and walk. They must be able to operate basic computer software programs, phones, and office equipment. The noise level in this environment is usually quiet.
