Department: The Mother-Child Services department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital provides quality care to pregnant women and their families throughout the birthing process. Our anesthesia providers are available 24 hours a day to provide epidural placement and other pain management, as needed. After you and your closest loved ones have welcomed your new baby in your private labor, delivery and recovery room, you will be transferred to your Mother-Child post-partum room. We encourage rooming in for you and your baby. Dads are encouraged to stay as well.
Position: The successful Obstetrical/Surgical Technologist will prepare the C-Section/Delivery room for a case and assist the physician during the C-Section/Delivery; care for Obstetrical and Nursery patients as directed by a registered nurse; and, carry out other tasks as assigned under the supervision of the registered nurse. The OB/Surgical Tech will demonstrate competence in interaction with geriatrics through neonates. Age specific competency is measured by a variety of methods, which may include but is not limited to, self-learning packets, review of age specific guidelines, direct observation, video, simulation, unit-based class, policies, procedures, or chart review.
1. High school diploma / GED;
2. Surgical technologist accreditation/certification or equivalent work experience;
3. Current CPR certification; and
4. Demonstrates competence in interaction with neonates through geriatrics
1. Previous surgical technologist experience.
