General Description

Community College of Philadelphia is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Office Administration in the Computer Technologies Department for Fall 2013.

Specific Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in information technology, education or business OR a Master's degree and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate. Qualified applicants must possess the following: * Keyboarding teaching experience; * Demonstrated ability to teach current Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding, basic information technology concepts, business communications, and related courses as assigned, including Computer Information Systems 103 - Applied Computer Technology; * Willingness to manage hardware and software used in class; * Willingness to develop and implement curriculum; * Willingness to revise and maintain courses and curriculum; * Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; * Willingness to develop and implement student retention-related activities, participate in articulation with four-year school and outreach with area high schools; * Commitment to participating in the intellectual life of the department, and a willingness to participate in the life of the College through leadership in department and college-wide committees.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant business experience preferred. * Teaching experience at a community college is highly desirable. * Experience developing and teaching noncredit workforce development courses.
