Performs responsible clerical work requiring a qualified typist in support of administrative services; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision

Essential Job Functions*:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including typewriter, computer, copy machines, etc., and the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects or items customary and reasonable in an office environment; Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve standing or walking during some periods. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to receive detailed information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Worker is subject to no adverse environmental conditions.

Serves as receptionist, answers telephone, relays and dispatches messages; Types letters and other materials from rough drafts, marginal notes or verbal instructions; Utilizes word-processing, worksheet analysis and desktop publishing software programs and page maker in preparing various reports, correspondence brochures and department related literature; Establishes and maintains office files and mailing lists; Assembles information from various sources for records and reports and makes mathematical calculations as needed; Reports to work on assigned duty schedule; Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

Composes routine correspondence; Collects fees and prepares invoices; Posts and make entries in account books and other records; Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies.

Typical Qualifications:

General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment; Demonstrates ability to utilize computerized word-processing, worksheet analysis and desktop publishing software; General knowledge of Business English and ability to type various correspondence and assume responsibility for correct spelling, punctuation and format; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; Ability to communicate orally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions.

Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by courses in typing, office procedures, word processing and related subjects.

Special License and Certificates:
