  • Provide administrative and project management support to the Director of Labor Management Programs (LMP) at the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds
  • Demonstrate a high level of engagement by actively participating in leadership meetings and team projects to develop and foster effective customer relationships; represent Director with clients, conference calls, and other departments
  • Manage Director’s schedule and files (electronic and physical); develop various PowerPoint presentations for conferences
  • Supervise LMP administrative staff in accordance with established departmental procedures and Human Resources guidelines; provide assignments, prepare performance evaluations and ensure staff is trained to meet the goals of the department
  • Act as office manager for LMP and Registered Nurse (RN) Programs; participate in Management Team
  • Write correspondence on behalf of Director, take minutes and develop agendas
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Healthcare or equivalent years of experience required; plus
  • Minimum four (4) years experience providing administrative and project management support to Executives and Senior Level Management; to include one (1) year demonstrated experience in a lead role required
  • Knowledge and demonstrated interest in adult education, unions, non-profits, healthcare reform, labor relations, or process improvement required
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook preferred
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands with a commitment to excellence, accuracy and strict attention to details
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills including team orientation, courtesy, tact, discretion, and able to manage emotions in conflict situations required
  • Strategic thinker with good leadership skills; excellent analytical and problem solving abilities required
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities in a confidential environment
  • Flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Able to travel to locations in the New York City and Upstate NY area as needed
  • Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
