Braun Intertec, a leader in the engineering and environmental consulting field, is seeking an for our Bloomington EIT office.

Summary: Entry-level to the engineering practice. Performs engineering assignments under the direction of a professional engineer. Develops solutions, makes recommendations, and prepares engineering reports for review. Prepares field reports documenting contractors work methods, test results, and the interpretation of these tests.

Required Skills Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Under close and frequent supervision, incumbent assists Engineers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.

Performs civil design calculations (i.e. grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, utility design, etc.), sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment. Makes engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software

Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians within the discipline group.

Reviews drawings supplies by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes.

Develops solutions, makes recommendations, and prepares engineering reports for review.

Makes engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software.

Works independently on specific assignments of limited scope and with engineers and paraprofessionals on larger projects as a team member.

Prepares field reports documenting contractors work methods, test results, and the interpretation of these tests.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Engineer in Training certification.

Required Experience Bachelor''s degree in engineering with geotechnical or materials emphasis preferred.

2 yrs previous work experience in a construction related environment and/or Materials testing experience highly preferred.

Ability to travel up to 50%

A valid driver license with clean driving history

Possess EIT certification.
