The Department of State Police is seeking qualified applicants for an Office Services Assistant/Receptionist position in the Training Division located in Nottoway County, Virginia. This is a Non-Exempt position; therefore, this position is subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

DUTIES: Ensures front desk and phones are covered at all times. Types and files correspondence for staff. Provides backup to the Office Services Specialist and Office Services Assistant.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of general office practices and the proper use of the English language. General knowledge of maintaining office filing systems. Demonstrated skill in typing/keyboarding; data entry; and experience with the use of Microsoft Office for preparing correspondence. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to direct callers to destination; to greet individuals; to work independently; and to multi-task as needed. High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of experience and training related to the duties of the position required.

Applicants must live in states east of the Mississippi. Military applicants must live in or home of record must be in one of the states east of the Mississippi.
