This limited-duration opportunity is with the Oregon Department of Corrections , Operations Division in the Health Services section of the Oregon State Penitentiary . This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy. This position is represented by the Association of Corrections Employees (AOCE) union.
This limited-duration position is funded through February 2014. Duties & Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support for the operation of the Medical Services Division at the Oregon State Penitentiary by establishing methods to assure accurate medical/dental records maintenance and filing, timely flow of written/verbal communication, compilation of statistics and routine reports, and schedule of health care appointments.

completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
one year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NOTE: Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in a medical office environment and experience with medical scheduling.

The pay and benefits on all announcements may change without notice. During the current biennium ending June 30, 2013, DOC employees are required to take mandatory unpaid time off (furlough) days. A furlough is a temporary excused unpaid absence from work. At the time of hire, your manager will meet with you to determine the number of hours or furlough days you will be required to take.
