HSN , a “boundary-less” retailer, provides multiple selling channels for the customer to engage and experience our brand. Our overall merchandising strategy supports these channels, building a synergetic and collaborative team that is responsible for developing and executing our product assortment. Our omni-channel teams hold cross-channel responsibilities that lend to a holistic view of the business.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
Develop a cross-channel marketing cadence for promotional events, relating to product/market trends, paid search, and affiliate marketing in conjunction with internal and external partners.
Ensure promotional execution accuracy including pricing, imaging, promotions, and overall experience.
Identify gaps in the global assortments to influence vendor partner decisions. Source through new and existing partners.
Identify opportunities relating to social networking and online content (i.e. Blogs, Vlogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
Conduct recap and analysis of the overall category business and apply learning to the ongoing strategy.
Negotiate buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery terms, and markdown).
Review the competitive market and trends to evaluate merchandise, promotional tactics, customer experience, and product presentation and translate findings into executable cross-channel programs.
Provide leadership and mentorship to members of the merchandising team.
BS/BA in related field and 1-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Demonstrate understanding of the merchandising process and product lifecycle.
Demonstrate the ability to identify trends and translate them into products desired by our target customer.
Demonstrate ability to analyze reports in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Demonstrate understanding of basic retail math calculations.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments at the same time.
Demonstrate ability to interact in a professional manner with all levels of HSN employees and external clients.
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or Retail Merchandising.
Experience within a .Com environment.
Familiar with HSN strategy, and merchandising metrics.
Experience using an Inventory Tracking tool such as Retek.
