The On Air Designer will conceive, develop and design innovative creative materials for G4 Network (domestic and international) including animations and designs for promo, show packages, and live events. Additional design duties may include design for outdoor advertising, key art, marketing collateral materials, brochures, logos, premiums, packaging, display graphics, online, and special projects.
Thoroughly understand the G4 brand, and be a leader in bringing the network’s voice to life across all creative expressions.
Provide innovative design solutions (including animation and layout), across all mediums including on-air, print and digital outlets that are wholly in the G4 voice
Oversee creative content and be a back up to the Associate Director of Brand Creative
Work closely with the Design Director of Brand Creative on all projects in order to meet the department’s objectives and goals
Have a unique and exciting design aesthetic with an attention to typography, composition and style
Be a creative thinker who can solve complex design challenges and develop cutting-edge, compelling, original designs that are within brand standards.
Manage a projects from start to finish: from sketches, and storyboards to 2D and 3D animation, to collaborating with production to deliver a final product along with the appropriate versioning
Take the lead on projects and work independently.
Take direction, work collaboratively and participate in internal brainstorming sessions with other designers, producers and writers
Stay aware of competitive networks and advertising trends.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the creative and technical process, stay current with contemporary trends in typography, photography animation and design; and maintain expert knowledge of current software
Improve the quality of work and efficiency of the department by maintaining technical standards, troubleshooting, archiving and building an organizational system and process for creative work
Understand the 4-color printing process and ability to handle press checks
Communicate effectively with all levels of the department and clients including preparing for presentations
Work closely with Project Managers in order to deliver projects on time and on budget
Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects efficiently
Maintain and archive all project files to ensure that they are accessible and useable by other designers and animators
Minimum 2 years professional on air design experience
Minimum 5 years experience at an entertainment design firm or agency
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Film or comparable portfolio and experience
Must be able to work a regular work week and willing to work some late nights and weekends

Illustration and sketching ability a plus
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute national/international advertising television or theatrical campaigns
Strong Macintosh computer skills, including a thorough understanding of graphics applications Cinema 4D, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop, InDesign a plus.
Ability to take on multiple projects and prioritize them in order to meet all deadlines

Must have a collaborative approach, the ability to work with others and to professionally represent the department at all times
