The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco is looking for 4 Onsite Services Assistants to work in an on-call/as-needed capacity. Reporting to the Member and Visitor Services Supervisors, the Onsite Services Assistants solicit membership sales onsite and provide excellent customer service to members. Implement membership promotions as directed by the Member and Visitor Services Supervisors. Provide member feedback to Member and Visitor Services Supervisors, as well as assist with Member surveys.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Solicit museum membership sales onsite, including line sales.

Use museum databases to assist members with inquiries and record interactions with members.

Assist members with service requests.

Maintain daily accounting of onsite sales and process membership transactions accurately.

Serve as liaison between the general public and the Museums.

Provide membership benefit information to the public.

Print member tickets.

Handle membership will call pick up.

Assist with member events as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.

Work Experience: 1 year of general sales or retail experience including cash handling. Experience in a museum or similar institution preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of POS or other databases.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Excellent oral communication skills.

Must have a friendly, calm, and personable demeanor.

Ability to interact respectfully with a variety of people, including staff, volunteers, and museum visitors.

Ability to maintain confidentiality around members' personal information.

Available to work evenings and weekends.

Rate of Pay: $14.50 per hour

This is an on-call/as-needed position that does NOT qualify for the Museums' benefits package.

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are the city's largest public arts institutions and comprise the de Young and the Legion of Honor museums.
