The On-Call Switchboard Operator & Public Safety Dispatcher or “Sub” position works during college breaks and holidays . Switchboard Operators serve a crucial role in answering all calls entering the St. Olaf switchboards (general information) and the college public safety telephone (general dispatch and 911 services). Operators play a dual role in answering both telephones and dispatching officers to routine calls and emergency situations. Applicant must be able to route and handle all emergency calls in a calm and efficient manner, operate and maintain radio contact with Public Safety and operate a two-way radio.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in a high traffic customer service setting, working with telecommunications equipment.
• Excellent verbal communications skills
