Optical Testing Intern
Silicon Photonics Operations, an organization inside Intel Labs, focuses on the development of silicon-based or silicon compatible optical technologies. We aim to realize affordable optical communications as the backbone of our computing, providing faster capabilities over longer distances for data-intensive computing applications like remote medicine, lifelike 3-D virtual worlds or even the ability to download libraries of movies and music in mere seconds.
We have an immediate opportunity for an internship that is slated for 6+ months. In this position, you will be responsible for the design and characterization of silicon-based optical components for high speed communication and interconnect. You will be responsible for electrical and optical measurements as well simulations. The successful candidate will posses excellent problem solving abilities along with good oral and written communication skills.
You must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science or related fields with strong background in integrated optics and electro-optic device development. Additional qualifications include:
1+ years hands-on experience with die-level or wafer-level electrical and optical testing, fiber-to-waveguide optical alignment, and time-domain and frequency domain measurements.
1+ years experience with optical or RF simulations.
1+ years experience with semiconductor device fabrication and integration.
