Lead Software Engineer
This is a senior position for an international healthcare company where you will assume a key role as a member of the Application Support team.This role calls for a senior level individual to be a member of the team supporting the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment and other financial applications (such as payroll and expense reporting).
The team is currently responsible for maintaining and managing the 24x7 service continuity to the user community by providing expert support. As part of the team, you will drive functional, configurations, data, and process support, with a focus on techno-functional expertise. Assume the responsibility for leadership, performance improvement, and service optimization. You will lead techno-functional support analysis in research and troubleshooting, evaluation, and resolution of support issues, deliver bug-fixes and data-fixes. Work with the Development Team to identify and deliver service improvements, understanding functional design, and set-up/configuration areas to support current service portfolio, alongside facilitating appropriate knowledge transfer.
Partner with the business user community, provide expert oversight in all IT Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) support and transactional service matters, while ensuring the stability of business critical back-end application processes, associated operational framework, and data quality/availability for business transactional services.
Liaise with end-users on clarification of incidents/problems and provide impact analysis when applicable for improved service response times. Work closely with end-users to identify and explain process and data discrepancies.
Provide expert Oracle EBS support (troubleshooting, setup changes, configuration review, queries and data analysis, etc.) for application and related interfaces to ensure availability and reliability of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, especially in the key areas of Financials (PA, AR, AP, GL, FA, HR) and with additional Oracle modules (Employee Self Service, Inventory, OTL, iProcurement, Cash Management). Interface with Development team (onsite/offshore) for associated deliverables during the course of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and bug-fixes.
Support and maintain Oracle Discoverer environment.
Interface with Business Users/Super Users, and members of various IT and project teams to improve synergies in existing solutions, minimize recurring data/product bugs and data related issues, expand reporting and communication, and continuously strive for service improvements, performance tuning, and support reduction; Ensure service improvements delivery, in compliance with the IS Quality Assurance team standards and references, including: solution approach review and design reviews, functional performance assessment and unit/functional testing.
Manage service improvement initiatives with Business Super Users, internal IT and project teams, and vendors in identifying and leading evolutions in system performance, availability, and data quality
Develop, document, and oversee adherence of functional specifications and SOPs for bug-fixes, data-fixes, performance tuning, and solution improvements with technical support and development teams and vendors.
Interface with Oracle partner support team in all support matters, and lead assignments to completion. Responsible for ownership and communication aspects of Service Requests (SR’s).
Work with the Development team in rollout and support of new application functionality, releases, and/or upgrades.
Engage with Development and Architecture teams in comprehending new project scope, requirements, functions introduced, new processes and data flows.
Coordinate and participate in providing operational and functional impact analysis on new projects or enhancements requirements when needed.
Analyze functional and technical requirements to ensure supportability and service levels needed.
Participate in requirements, design and Use/test case reviews to ensure proper processes/standards are followed and production supportability is addressed.
Work with Development team in regression and integration testing of system changes.
Work with Development team on streamlining and ensuring adherence/completion of Service Transition requirements and Deployment planning.
Identify training opportunities for utilization of current production applications. Provide guidance to users on effective and efficient approaches to utilizing application tools and data.
Prepare and maintain key SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) documents and service specifications for new and existing solutions to ensure service levels are met. Initialize change management process on requests for application change or data updates.
7-10 years of proven experience with Oracle 11i (design, development, testing, implementation, support, and troubleshooting) application suite (11.5.10 and above).
3+ years of experience opening, managing, and resolving Service Requests with Oracle Support.
Strong knowledge of modular relationships between various Oracle applications (version 11.5.10 and R12).
Well versed with various Oracle Applications modules, such as PA, AR, AP, GL, FA, HR, PO, etc.
Working knowledge to run ad-hoc queries in Oracle RDBMS (10g/11g) in order to retrieve data needed for troubleshooting.
Expert in Oracle Applications Development framework and AOL objects.
Strong technical, functional, analytical, troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment.
Experience in Vertex, SOA based messaging, Data warehousing is a plus.
Ability to work in a heterogeneous organization (internal, outsourcing, off-shoring), and in an international, multicultural company.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written, service oriented and able to communicate functional solutions to non-technical business customers.
Ability to learn rapidly and to apply formal training to new software environments.
Minimum of 3+ years experience in programming in sql, plsql, shell scripts, OAF, Reports 6i.
Minimum of 3+ years experience in creating MD50, MD70 documents, Test cases etc.
