GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Perform duties in day-to-day operations, programming and maintenance of assigned areas of the City’s Community Services Department. Areas of assignment include, but are not necessarily limited to, community centers, parks, recreation and athletic facilities, and tennis facilities. Employees in this class perform programming, clerical, accounting, and public relations activities that are generally routine in nature. Clerical duties include scheduling, typing, and filing. Accounting duties include collection, recording, and reporting of fees. Public relations duties include providing information and assistance to the public. Position is responsible for participating in physical maintenance of facilities, such as custodial tasks, securing facilities, etc. The incumbent prioritizes tasks and usually performs with minimal supervision, but is subject to direct supervision in the event of special programming or new procedure. Performs related work as required.

Typical Qualifications:

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Hi gh school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to one (1) year previous experience in a recreation, public relations, or customer service capacity, demonstrating customer service, communication, basic recreational programming and basic clerical skills; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

ADA COMPLIANCE: Physical Ability : Tasks may involve regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Sensory Rquirements : Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. E nvironmental Factors : Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, and/or toxic/poisonous agents, depending on area of assignment.
