Performs a wide array of tasks that support process control for the treatment plant to include ; sampling, monitoring, laboratory work as well as troubleshooting problems. Maintains a logbook and records daily results both in the plant and laboratory. Performs preventive maintenance on pumps and motors while ensuring they run efficiently and effectively. Spray larvicide’s on wetland plants and herbicide around structures. Performs landscape maintenance and repair fence lines. Efficiently and effectively start and stop a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment to include bar screens, aerators, clarifiers and pumps.
Operates high pressure cleaning and vacuuming equipment while performing maintenance on sewer lines. Operates CCTV systems and enters information into database and records videos of work. Performs basic maintenance and trouble shooting on all heavy equipment and CCTV systems. Sprays pesticide to control roach population in sewer system. Performs installation and reading of flow monitoring equipment. Identifies our lines through blue stake program. Maintains records of lines cleaned, manholes sprayed, lines inspected and maintenance performed on lines. Ensures the public is aware of all maintenance programs.
Knowledges, Skills & Other Characteristics:
Operating procedures in the sewer collection system, wastewater treatment and water system.
Using hand tools.
Operating vehicles and mechanical equipment, including loaders and backhoes.
Following oral and written instructions.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with City staff and the public.
Reading, recording, and interpreting gauges and recording devices.
Lift heavy objects and perform strenuous work.
High school diploma or GED required. A current driver’s license is required and mu st possess and maintain an Arizona Driver’s License within 6 months of employment. A 5-year driving record required. Must be able to pass an Arizona Department of Corrections (D.O.C.) background check. Willing to obtain CDL is desired.
