Under general supervision, executes aquatic exercise programs for the Sierra Vista Aquatic Center. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

Applicant must be able to commit to a set class schedule; work hours for all classes will be set by the facility. Applicant may also be asked to act as a substitute instructor for a class other than their regularly scheduled class.
Knowledges, Skills & Other Characteristics:
Appropriate exercises for water-based classes.
Various techniques for a variety of skill and age levels.
Injury prevention and equipment safety.
Pool rules, policies, procedures and enforcement.
Preventing disease transmission.
Developing varying class curriculum.
Communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public and department staff.
High school diploma or GED required . Some experience in teaching water-based exercise activities and/or classes required.
Current American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. Valid AZ Driver’s license.
Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) certifications preferred.
