Applicant must be flexible as swim lesson session times and dates will vary; however, once set, applicant must be able to work a set class schedule. Work hours will vary depending upon other programs at the facility. Applicant may also be asked to act as a substitute instructor for classes other than their regularly scheduled classes.
Knowledges, Skills & Other Characteristics:
The essential characteristics of the American Red Cross Water Safety program.
Injury prevention and facility safety.
Pool rules, policies, procedures and enforcement.
Preventing disease transmission.
Teaching swim lessons.
Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the professional rescuer (CPR/PR).
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and Oxygen administration.
Communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public and department staff.
REQUIRED : Must be 16 years of age. Current American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certifications. Valid AZ Driver’s license.
