Job Description

As a PTA, you will assume the great responsibility of assisting a licensed PT in helping patients in their rehabilitation and treatment of chronic conditions and injuries. You will play an important assisting role in helping these ill or injured patients' improved movement and managing of pain. Some of the daily tasks involved in reaching these goals include:

Assist in diagnosing patients' dysfunctional movements by watching them stand or walk, listening to their concerns and other methods;
Assist in setting up a plan for patients, outlining goals, and planned treatments;
Assist PT in using exercise, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy and equipments to ease patients' pain while helping them to increase their ability to move;
Assist in evaluating patient's progress based on set goals and modifying treatment plan as needed;
Assist in educating patients and their families about what to expect during recovery period

Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Program
Minimum of 2+ years (post graduate) extensive experience as Physical Therapist Assistant
Active state license to practice in Connecticut
Relevant specialty certifications/credentials
