PID316- Field Engineer

The position requires a motivated Computer Specialist to work independently, at a west-coast based field office, serving as the primary technical point of contact for all facets of corporate LAN and WAN administration and onsite upper support at the facility. The position supports daily operations, primarily during core business hours, after hours support may be required to accommodate maintenance or special projects. The candidate must be willing to be on call and available for immediate support requirements 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Limited travel may be required to satisfy training requirements.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Promptly responding to IT-related incidents and service requests and troubleshooting to resolve end-user problems
Operating, maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environment including computer hardware, software, and related documentation in accordance with IT best practices
Performing data backups and disaster recovery operations
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
Planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software and hardware
Interfacing with customer, technical staff, team members, and management to identify issues, negotiate changes, meet deadlines, markets services, and provide strong customer service both orally and in writing
Tracking and supporting periodic hardware and software upgrades
Working closely with support partners to promptly resolve incidents

Required skills:
Ability to identify and resolve moderately complex windows-based access problems
A working knowledge of the Windows Operating Systems, specifically XP and Windows 7
Ability to establish/delete user accounts and submit requests for access
Ability to troubleshoot user problems and system anomalies
Ability to maintain customer IT hardware/equipment to include CD and DVD writers, printers, switch boxes, etc as needed
Ability to maintain gene5ral knowledge of IT industry, trends, and developments
Ability to work independently or as a lead in a team environment
Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs, analyze complex requirements, and ensure expectations are met within feasible cost and time projections
Ability to elicit information on technical problems form non-technical customers
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain procedures and moderately complex technical information, both orally and in writing

Required Qualifications:
CompTIA Server+
10+ years combined as and IT Specialist and System Administrator primarily focused on Windows based environment to include XP, Server 2000, and Server 2003 operating systems
2+ years using Microsoft SharePoint
Critical Thinking

Good Judgment and Decision-Making
Complex Problem Solving

Desired skills:
Microsoft Certifications such as MSTC
ITIL Certification
2+ years Microsoft SharePoint Site Collection Administration Experience
Microsoft Exchange
B.S. in Computer Science or Equivalent
System Analysis
Unix Familiarity
Citrix or VPN Familiarization
