Fred Koch and L. E. Winkler formed the Winkler-Koch Engineering Company in 1925 to design and supervise installation of refining equipment. Fred Koch then formed Koch Engineering in 1945. From the initial FLEXITRAY® valve tray, the product line expanded over time to include additional tray designs, tower packings, mist eliminators, and pollution control equipment. Glitsch, Inc. was originally founded by Fritz W. Glitsch, Sr. in 1912 as a machine shop. The first GLITSCH ''Truss-Type'' Bubble Cap Trays were designed, constructed, and placed into service in January 1939. The simplicity and adaptability of these trays opened up numerous opportunities for customers worldwide and led to the development of new tray designs.

Our Koch-Glitsch / Wichita office has an opening for a Process Engineer. Some of the duties are:
Developing creative technical solutions for customers' distillation and absorption columns. Proposed solutions may help solve operational problems, provide additional capacity or be basis for new facility.
Present/participate in technical presentations for topics such as general distillation, product or application specific to give customers general understanding of Koch-Glitsch mass transfer product.
Preparing process simulations, performing column hydraulic calculations, developing cost estimates and coordinating proposal preparation with Sales Manager, Manufacturing and Purchasing departments.
Assisting Sales Managers in selling technical solutions on projects through customers interface. Process Engineer will be part of the sales team and have direct contact with customer's technical staff.
Required Work Experience, Skills and Education
BS Chemical Engineering
Strong problem solving aptitude with good economic/decision making skills.
Strong computer skills
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Work Experience, Skills and Education
Previous Mass Transfer experience.
Process Simulation experience
Experience in Plant Operations, Column Hydraulic Design and Plant Design
Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills
