Production (Dry End) Superintendent

for its lumber manufacturing facility in Brunswick (Sterling), GA.

The incumbent will lead a wood products production facility to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment consistent with Market Based Management (MBM)® philosophy and framework. Support the Dry End Processes to align and optimize the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensure green end department operates effectively and efficiently on a two (2) shift basis

Create an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health and Safety

Lead and foster a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership, through a principle based approach

Lead and mentor employees to apply Market Based Management® in ways that are consistent with our Guiding Principles

Facilitating team development and growth, and reviewing/managing performance

Support the implementation of complete asset strategies and facilitate zone ownership strategy and operator basic care execution by transferring ownership to operators and technicians to operate, maintain and improve

Provide technical expertise, transfer knowledge and drive performance improvements through interaction with Shift Leaders, support capability leaders and operators/technicians to identify and address knowledge and performance gaps

Owns the performance of departments in the areas of safety, operator basic care, cost optimization, quality capability and productivity

Position team for year-over-year continuous improvement

General Tasks:
Drive safety and operational excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved; monitor the performance and quality of work and provide direction to team members to maximize efficiency; assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues; provide training to team members; and data entry and completing/generating reports.

Internal (site): Interacts with key operations personnel such as the Plant Manager, Supervisors, Reliability Manager, Human Resources Manager, Safety Manager, Environmental Manager, maintenance personnel and employees at all levels of the site organization.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent


seven (7) or more years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment required

Three (3) or more of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment

Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) - SAP, MP2, ActivePlant

Experience in leading a department or organization in EH&S, Reliability, Production , Cost and Quality Excellence

Experience in analyzing production data to eliminate waste and foster continuous improvement

Developed and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis strategies

Must have working knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email exchange

Must be able and willing to work in an industrial manufacturing plant including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas

Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote safe work practices

Must have experience in employee performance management and change management

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or a similar discipline


three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment

five (5) or more of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
