Performs work directing educational activities concerning composting and vermi-composting.
Designs and implements compost and vermi-composting conservation educational programs to homeowners and students.
Organizes and implements workshops, demonstrations and exhibits.
Assists the public with answers to questions on composting and vermi-composting strategies.
Orders supplies for educational programs to include hand-outs, compost bins, compost thermometers, worm bins, and related material.
Promotes the program through the media via press releases, feature articles, and webpages.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the program.
Performs other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of Florida flora and fauna.
Working knowledge of horticultural best management techniques.
Ability to present curriculum and training programs to the public.
Ability to prepare and complete organized reports.
Ability to read and understand job related materials.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.
Graduation from High School or possession of a GED certificate; and
Familiarity with Florida environmental horticultural; and
Possession of a valid Driver license.

NOTE : The County requires successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
