Duties and Responsibilities: DESCRIPTION:|
Coach intercollegiate women's track & field. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide the organization, direction, and administration of the Women's Track and Field program.
Perform coaching duties at practices and contests.
Home meet preparation and management.
Recruit student-athletes from the college's recruiting areas.
Schedule contests, arrange transportation, and manage the budget.
Stay current on all Division, District, Conference and Commission on Athletics rules and policies.
Develop an off- season conditioning and strength program that monitors the progress of the student-athletes.
Assist with all DeAnza College Physical Education and Athletic Division fundraising events.
Work effectively with the athletic trainers, academic advisor, equipment manager(s) and others in the Department.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Any Bachelor's degree AND two years of experience OR any Associate's degree AND six years of experience. Certification for Safety Training for Swim and/or Lifeguard required for all water sports.
Preferred: Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
