Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: To inform all Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) personnel and the public by direct and indirect means of the objectives, ideals, accomplishments, mission and policies of the USAF in general, the Air Force Materiel Command, and in particular, the AFLCMC, incorporating Air Force core values. Is responsible for disseminating information to general or specific publics on AFLCMC and Hanscom-supported programs, objectives and functions. Also advises program management personnel on community relations problems that may arise from AFLCMC programs and develops communications efforts to mitigate unfavorable public reaction.
U.S. citizenship required.
Travel expenses may or may not be paid.

Develops written and visual information materials to reach regional, national and international audiences, through new media such as radio, television, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, wire services, ect.
Develops positive personal relationships with the news media.
Develops effective working relationships with contractor public relations and public affairs personnel so that contractor resources will also be voluntarily used in a coordinated public information program.
Develops information plans to attain specific goals such as publicizing a new defense development or minimizing concern over a new program affecting a particular area of the country.
Acts as personal advisor to Air Force representatives being interviewed by news media or appearing before groups at part of public affairs action.

At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-11 grade level is required.
Specialized experience is experience using professional communication techniques to independently develop written information materials covering technical and non-technical subject matter for delivery and dissemination to a variety of audiences and media. Experience must also include incorporating written and audiovisual material into various communication products and media, including various Web-based products and social media, as well as experience verbally communicating organizational goals to internal and external audiences.
