Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH), Pacific Regional Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) Program located in Honolulu and Mililani, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.


DUTIES: Serves as programmatic lead for selected portions of the Regional CCC sub-projects or deliverables. Assures that all program activities related to supporting the specific aims of the program are accomplished within the proposed timeline. Ensures timely execution of subcontracts related to the project. Schedules and coordinates all meetings with the Pacific CCC Coordinators, Cancer Council of the Pacific Islands (CCPI), and other Pacific partners. Records and documents all accomplishments and meetings in a chronological manner, which includes the coordination and writing of the monthly progress reports to the United States Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI) jurisdictions and to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Coordinates distance-based or live training sessions for health professionals in the jurisdictions. Maintains the Pacific Cancer Programs website, including working with jurisdiction education coordinators to collect evaluation forms and other required documentation. Coordinates and processes travel and other expenses pertaining to Pacific projects. Supports other Pacific Cancer Programs (Pacific Regional Central Cancer Registry, Pacific Center for Health Equity, etc.) and projects as needed.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field. EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of experience with program or office management. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals including use of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of office equipment. Able to communicate well both orally and in writing. Demonstrated proficiency in dealing with multiple tasks and frequent deadlines. Post Offer/Employment Conditions: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Continuation of employment is contingent upon ability to pass criminal background check annually. PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift twenty (20) pounds. Ability to travel to the USAPI for up to eight (8) days at a time.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health of Public Administration. Experience with public health projects. Experience with adaptation or development of presentations. Knowledge of database software programs such as Microsoft Access, SPSS, or SAS. Positive customer service attitude and a team player.
