General Job Description

The Packaging Engineer II procures and develops packaging for new and existing products. The Packaging Engineer II works with and negotiates with product development and customers to develop best packaging solutions.

Job Functions/Duties (may include other duties as assigned)

· Coordinate the selection, purchase, and validation of new packaging equipment

· Ensure compliance of equipment and packaging designs

· Evaluate issues with existing packaging and implement corrective actions

· Write and execute validation protocols

Education and/or experience must include:

· Packaging design principles for medical device/pharmaceutical products

· Medical packaging materials (Tyvek, PE/PET, thermoforming, etc.)

· Sterilization methods (EtO, e-beam, gamma, etc.)

· Developing, testing and evaluating new and existing packaging systems and equipment

· Establishing design and quality requirements and translating them into packaging specifications

· environmental and regulatory requirements and standards that relate to medical packaging design

and testing (e.g., ASTM F1886, F88, F2096, D4169 and ISO 11607)

· Simultaneously leading multiple projects to successful completion with tight timelines and critical

deliverables

Education

· Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Science, or closely-related field
