The focus of this role is to perform painter duties in a manufacturing environment.
In addition, in this role you will:
Prep, clean, sand, mask, prime and paint (using HVLP paint guns – high volume, low pressure) gas turbine units and related parts or components
Follow all EH&S rules when using paint, chemicals and cleaning solvents and when storing chemicals
Mix and use multi-component and single component paints
Texture process / paint control panels when needed – understand timing and pressure settings for this process
Understand and work with the quality specifications surrounding thickness (millage) for primer and top coat
Complete any and all instructions given by paint shop supervision (i.e. material handling, etc)
Maintain shop equipment and clean up
Follow safety requirements/EHS guidelines and compliance with current policies
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
Ability and willingness to work a 2nd shift schedule
Ability and willingness to work various shifts and overtime on short notice
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs for short distances
Ability to climb, work at heights above grade, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and reach
Ability to able to read and communicate in the English language
Ability to able to pass a respirator fit test
Ability to familiar with and able to use common paint shop equipment
Ability to follow instructions and be willing to work outside under adverse weather conditions
