High Level Statement of the Role:|
The Panel Saw/V-Saw Operator is responsible for machining parts to load card specification per work instructions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Do appropriate set up for parts to be run. Verify set up accuracy.
Inspect for obvious damage, color consistency and alignment or any other material specifications and inspect parts for compliance to any other quality or workmanship standards.
Document necessary information.
Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized.
Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used.
Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming product procedures and be aware of disposition authority.
Implement process improvements.
Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and Kimball Hospitality.
Support our Environmental Management System (EMS).
Set up, operate, or tend panel saw to cut or trim wood to specified dimensions
Adjust saw blades, using wrenches and rulers, or by turning handwheels or pressing pedals, levers, or panel buttons.
Select saw blades, types or grades of stock, or cutting procedures to be used, according to work orders or supervisors' instructions.
Lubricate or clean machines, using wrenches, grease guns, or solvents.
Inspect and measure work pieces to mark for cuts and to verify the accuracy of cuts, using rulers, squares, or caliper rules.
Able to write legibly
Able to read and comprehend required documents.
Able to accomplish required math
Minimum of 4 weeks on the job training
